Overview

Chronicle is designed with your privacy in mind while providing a free experience through advertising. We collect minimal data required for ad services. Everything you write stays on your device.

Data We Collect

Chronicle collects limited data to provide advertising services:

• No account creation or login required
• Device identifiers for ad personalization and frequency capping
• Advertising data collected by Google AdMob (see Google's privacy policy)
• No personal data is collected or stored by Chronicle

Data Stored on Your Device

All data you enter — journal entries, habits, tasks, goals, and notes — is stored locally on your iPhone or iPad using Apple's SwiftData framework. This data:

• Never leaves your device unless you explicitly use the iOS Share Sheet to export it
• Is protected by your device's encryption and passcode
• Is included in your standard iCloud or iTunes/Finder device backup (controlled by you in iOS Settings)

iCloud Sync

Chronicle uses iCloud CloudKit to sync your data across your devices signed in to the same Apple ID. Data is transmitted securely via Apple's encrypted iCloud infrastructure and is not accessible to us.

Third-Party Services

Chronicle uses Google AdMob to display advertisements. Google AdMob may collect and use information about your device and usage patterns to provide personalized ads. Please refer to Google's Privacy Policy for more information.

Children

Chronicle is suitable for all ages. No personal information is collected from any user, including children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

If we change this policy in a material way, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify users through an in-app notice.
