Frequently Asked Questions
How do I create a countdown?
Tap the + button in the top-right corner of the main screen. Make sure the segmented control at the top of the form shows ⏳ Countdown, then fill in a name, pick a date, choose an emoji and colour, and tap Save.
What is "Days Since"?
Days Since tracks how many days have passed since a meaningful date — a sobriety milestone, a first day at work, a wedding, or any personal record. When creating an event, switch the toggle at the top of the form to 📆 Days Since. The counter grows every day.
How do I add the widget to my Home Screen?
Long-press your Home Screen → tap + in the top-left → search EverCount → choose Small (next event) or Medium (top 3 events) → tap Add Widget. The widget updates automatically when you save or edit events in the app.
My widget is not updating — what should I do?
- Open EverCount at least once after adding or editing an event — this triggers a widget refresh.
- If still stale, long-press the widget → Edit Widget, then exit. iOS will force a timeline reload.
- As a last resort, remove and re-add the widget.
Can I set reminders for an event?
Yes. When creating or editing a Countdown event, scroll to the Reminders section and enable 1 Day Before or 1 Week Before. EverCount will ask for notification permission the first time. Days Since events do not support reminders.
What does "Working Days Only" mean?
When enabled, the countdown skips weekends (Saturday and Sunday) and counts only Monday–Friday. Useful for work deadlines and project milestones.
How do I delete an event?
Swipe left on any event card in the main list and tap Delete.
I deleted all my events and they came back — is that a bug?
This was fixed in version 1.0. If you are seeing sample events reappear after deleting them, please update to the latest version from the App Store.
Does EverCount collect any personal data?
No. All data (event names, dates, notes) is stored locally on your device and never sent to any server. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
